²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ-FLORES Participates in the UNCCD COP16 in Saudi Arabia

Contributing to discussions on land restoration, sustainable land management, and soil degradation.

Dr. Alexey Alekseenko participated in a series of events and meetings at COP16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His participation included:

Additionally, he represented the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ-FLORES Director at the UN Environment Management Group Meeting held during COP16: High-Level Round Table: Strengthening Action for Change: Promoting Coherence and Synergies for Sustainable Land Management, UN EMG  ). The ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ-FLORES Director has been designated a seat on the EMG, representing the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ. 

Dr. Johannes Cullmann represented ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ-FLORES at the One ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ event co-organized with Prof. Nima Shokri, Co-Director of the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Hub in TUHH: Soil Degradation in a Changing Climate: Environmental and Socioeconomic Impacts.

Following COP16, the G20 Global Land Initiative and ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ-FLORES are preparing for Pan-African hands-on training. Dr. Alexey Alekseenko heads the United Nations branch office in Lusatia, in the Free State of Saxony.
