²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS will host the 20th SDGs Caf¨¦ on the topic ¡°Inclusive Disaster Risk Management¡± on 16 September 2022 at 19:00 ¨C 20:30 JST. The event will be organised by ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS Operating Unit Ishikawa Kanazawa (OUIK).

Data shows that when disasters occur, socially vulnerable populations and those requiring additional support are disproportionately affected. Eighty per cent of the victims of the 2018 torrential rain disaster in western Japan were elderly and disabled persons. There is also a need to address issues such as sexual and domestic violence in evacuation centres. SDGs Caf¨¦ #20 will discuss disaster risks in Kanazawa City and inclusive disaster risk management that takes into account different needs. What measures are necessary to implement disaster risk reduction that leaves no one behind?
