On 1 July 2025, International Development Journal published a two-page article introducing ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ, which features ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS research activities and postgraduate education initiatives. Published in Japan, the journal focuses on international cooperation and development.
²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS expert Yasushi Katsuma (Academic Programme Advisor) provided comments for the article, which introduces the ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ system and its mission. It highlights that ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ is the only UN organization headquartered in Japan, with 13 research institutes located across the globe.
The article contains a column introducing ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS research activities in the institute¡¯s four thematic areas: governance for climate change and sustainable development, biodiversity and society, water and resource management, and innovation and education.
It outlines ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS postgraduate education and academic initiatives, and highlights the opportunity for students to take courses at partner universities such as the University of Tokyo and Sophia University.
