In 2010, the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Institute of Advanced Studies (²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ-IAS, now the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability) and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, initiated the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative. This is an alliance that has grown to include hundreds of organizations dedicated to realizing societies in harmony with nature.
