New Visiting Research Assistant

Catriona Craven-Matthews will be visiting research assistant of ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Macau. She focuses on human rights, migration, gender, and human trafficking.

Catriona Craven-Matthews is spending the first six months of 2018 at the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Institute in Macau as a visiting research assistant. She is a recent graduate of in California, U.S., where she majored in International Relations with a focus on human rights, migration, gender, and human trafficking. She has participated in research projects at Pomona College on capacity-building in the state of Mali, and at the on trade agreements in the Asia-Pacific region.

At ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Institute in Macau, Catriona will work with Dr. Hannah Thinyane on the team within the and the , examining one stage in the process of human trafficking. Through her participation in this research, Catriona hopes to gain an in-depth understanding of the complexities of reintegration and of mental, physical, and occupational health in a global labor market. She looks forward to developing fieldwork and research methodology skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. After working at ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Institute in Macau, she plans to enter a graduate program in global development.
