¡°Reverting¡± is based on Francisco¡¯s experience in Reykjav¨ªk, Iceland, where he witnessed how issues such as urbanization, waste and environmental degradation ¡ª accelerated by mass tourism ¡ª challenge the idealized image of the land. In response, he sought new ways of reinterpreting the Icelandic landscape by combining photographs of heavily visited natural sites with his own handmade recycled paper, produced from local waste materials. By layering stereotypical images of the land with the tangible realities embedded in its materials, the project visualizes the cycles of the natural environment, embodying the very notion of ¡°Reverting¡± ¡ª a return, a restoration, a process of going back.
