On 24 October 2025, from 6 pm, a commemorative event will take place at Dresden City Hall to mark United Nations Day 2025. This year¡¯s focus is on the theme ¡°Education Shapes the Future¡±, highlighting the importance of inclusive and high-quality education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event will examine how gender disparities in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) emerge at an early stage, the global dimensions of this phenomenon, and how innovative teaching and learning formats can contribute to greater educational equality. In line with the theme, the programme will centre on Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
The event will be opened by Jan Donhauser, First Mayor of the City of Dresden and Head of the Department for Education, Youth and Sport. A keynote and moderation will be provided by Professor Christian Le?mann (TU Dresden). A panel discussion with experts from science, education, and policy will follow, including ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-FLORES director Edeltraud G¨¹nther, Henriette Greulich (ZiLL, TU Dresden), and Professor Kamila Cygan-Rehm (TU Dresden), among others.
In the second part of the evening, the 26th Lokale Agenda Dresden Award will be presented. The award recognises local initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and social transformation in the city. The evening will conclude with a reception offering refreshments and an opportunity to engage with award winners and guests.
The event is organised by ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-FLORES in cooperation with Lokale Agenda 21 f¨¹r Dresden e.V., the City of Dresden, TU Dresden, the Center for International Studies (ZIS), the United Nations Association of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt & Thuringia, and the Lionsclub Dresden Agenda 21 e.V.

UN-Tag 2025 in Dresden unter dem Motto ?Bildung gestaltet Zukunft¡°
Am 24. Oktober 2025, ab 18 Uhr, findet im Plenarsaal des Dresdner Rathauses eine Festveranstaltung zum Tag der Vereinten Nationen statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht das Thema ?Bildung gestaltet Zukunft¡°, das die Bedeutung von inklusiver und hochwertiger Bildung f¨¹r die Umsetzung der globalen Nachhaltigkeitsziele betont.
Die Veranstaltung beleuchtet, wie fr¨¹h geschlechterspezifische Unterschiede in MINT-F?chern (Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik) entstehen, welche internationalen Unterschiede bestehen und wie innovative Lehr- und Lernformate dazu beitragen k?nnen, Bildungsungleichheiten zu ¨¹berwinden. Thematisch orientiert sich der UN-Tag 2025 am Nachhaltigkeitsziel SDG 4: Hochwertige Bildung.
Er?ffnet wird die Veranstaltung durch Jan Donhauser, Erster B¨¹rgermeister der Landeshauptstadt Dresden und Beigeordneter f¨¹r Bildung, Jugend und Sport. F¨¹r den Impulsvortrag und die Moderation konnte Prof. Christian Le?mann (TU Dresden) gewonnen werden. Es folgt ein moderiertes Podiumsgespr?ch mit G?sten aus Wissenschaft, Bildung und Politik, darunter ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-FLORES Direktorin Prof.in Edeltraud G¨¹nther, Henriette Greulich (ZiLL, TU Dresden) und Prof.in Kamila Cygan-Rehm (TU Dresden).
Im zweiten Teil des Abends wird der 26. Lokale-Agenda-Wettbewerb verliehen. Ausgezeichnet werden lokale Initiativen, die sich f¨¹r eine nachhaltige Entwicklung und gesellschaftlichen Wandel in Dresden einsetzen. Ein anschlie?ender Empfang mit Getr?nken und kleinem Imbiss bietet Gelegenheit zum Austausch und zur Begegnung mit den Preistr?gerinnen und Preistr?gern.
Die Veranstaltung wird von ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-FLORES gemeinsam mit dem Lokale Agenda 21 f¨¹r Dresden e.V., der Landeshauptstadt Dresden, der Technischen Universit?t Dresden, dem Zentrum f¨¹r Internationale Studien (ZIS), der Gesellschaft f¨¹r die Vereinten Nationen Landesverband Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt & Th¨¹ringen sowie dem Lionsclub Dresden Agenda 21 e.V. organisiert.
